Little Lions was born out of a vision to immerse our child in the Scriptures – the very words which point to Jesus. We can think of no greater endeavour in life and no greater responsibility as parents. We started Little Lions to resource parents and children to take this journey together.

The season crazies are starting to set in with calendar bookings filling up quickly. How is your calendar looking?

Making space for advent this season is not ‘just going to happen’ but will require intentional planning and preparation. What have you decided to do? What are you wanting your family to focus on? There are so many wonderful family Advent books that you can do with your kids. Our personal recommendation is the ‘Seek and Find: The First Christmas’ by Sarah Parker & Andre’ Parker (find it at @reformers.bookshop ). It has been a real hit with our boys!

People often ask “what ages are these cards suit

People often ask “what ages are these cards suitable for?”. It’s a hard one to answer, because how can something be both suitable to babies, young children and older kids?! But the Bible is ageless isn’t it. You might be building the first layer of Scripture for your kids as you speak a blessing over them. Add another layer as they start to memorise the words. And another and another. And as they grow, their knowledge (and reading!) will too and our prayer is that layer upon layer they will come to know deeply the word of God and the Gospel of Jesus.

Here’s our 4 year old who can’t yet read books, but he can memorise. For his age, we use it as a tool to practice# memorising Scripture.

Also, this verse has been a much needed truth to hear the last few weeks, and how precious to hear it from the mouth of my own child, reminding me that my help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth🤍

For those new and old, here is a little introduction of our family. Little Lions was started when we had our first son and desired to speak Scripture blessings over him often and early. But during the late night feeds and milky messes I didn’t have time to spend looking for a particular verse. So I created little cards with verses that were practical, beautiful and allowed him to hear the word of God from an early age.

We so believe in the verse that inspired us, Deut 6:6-7 which reads “”These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.“. Notice the word repeat. Not once, not every now and then, but repeat.

We realised others might have this same desire and so we created our little business (if you could even call it that haha!). Our hope is that more children will be able to roar scripture and know the love of Jesus deeply in their hearts. Knowing their ABCs are so important, but nothing has been more precious to my heart than hearing my son utter Scripture.

Have been needing to hear this daily the last few weeks. As we enter a new week, may this truth be real for you as well. God doesn’t promise to meet our needs always the way we believe they need to be met. Very rarely it’s a change of circumstances, and most often it is a change of heart, to look more to Christ and to see more of His beauty and to be more at peace in knowing our loving Saviour is still God and is still good.

For all those (little and big) who have anxious hearts today, hear these words of our Saviour Jesus. He goes on to say “Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying?“, the obvious answer is no. So instead what should we do? “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.“ Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ ‭CSB‬‬.

“Remain in me” Jesus says. Too often we remain in other things that prove to be empty, unfulfilling and quickly affects us negatively. We always end up thirsty again. But Jesus is the well of living water. Only in Him can we remain and be filled, consistently and continuously. He calls us to a relationship with Him, with Him as the vine and we as the branches. Remain in Him as we enter this new week, so that you will be filled and satisfied with good, which is ultimately Jesus himself.

I was reminded of this verse this week. God loves His children. ”See what great love the Father has given us that we should be called God’s children — and we are! ‭‭(1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬). It is so beautiful to read the blessings of Scripture over little hearts. They might not understand much yet, but it’s a privilege to start awakening their souls to the beauty of Jesus and His word. Speaking these blessings over precious babes gently nudges us too to remember that these promises are true for us as well.
